Denpasar - UID Bali Campus hosted a workshop titled "Pathway to Inclusion - Making World Down Syndrome Day to End the Stereotypes" on March 3, 2024, to commemorate World Hearing Day and World Down Syndrome Day.

The workshop was facilitated by Lecturer in pediatric nursing Ns. Kadek Cahya Utami, aimed to foster self-confidence in children with Down syndrome and raise awareness to end misconceptions about the condition. President of United In Diversity Tantowi Yahya also delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of creating an inclusive environment and celebrating the unique abilities of children with Down syndrome.

Attended by 37 children with Down syndrome, the workshop starts from 09.30 to 12.00 (UTC+08:00) at UID Bali Campus, Kura Kura Bali, Denpasar. This workshop was also attended by the parents of children with Down syndrome who are members of PIK POTADS BALI.

The workshop fostered an inclusive environment where all participants celebrated their unique abilities. Children with Down syndrome participated in art therapy activities like drawing and colouring. UID Bali Campus also invited the National Commission for Hearing and Deafness Disorders and PERHATI-KL to provide free ear checks for participants.

Through this workshop, UID Bali Campus, as an educational hub, hopes to raise public awareness about Down syndrome and create a safe and inclusive world for people with Down syndrome.
