Healing Beyond the Walls: How the PRADNYA Program is Restoring Inner Clarity for Female Inmates
"I felt heard without being judged." These powerful words came from the harvest session of PRADNYA, a unique social reintegration program facilitated by UID and Garis Hitam Indonesia (GHI) at Lapas Perempuan Kelas IIA Jakarta.
Over two intensive days, 21 women approaching the end of their sentences were invited to pause, heal, and reclaim their inner clarity.
How the space was held:
The Intention Tree: Participants left declarations on post-it notes, naming exactly what they want to heal, rebuild, and begin.
Reconnecting via Movement: Guided by Ibu Cokorda Dewi, body awareness and meditation allowed participants to be present in their own bodies—for many, a first in a very long time.
Ruang Cerita Harapan: A safe space filled with stories of loss, longing, and quiet resilience, closing with the Dance of Nature, Dance of Life, and the absolute stillness of Yoga Nidra.
True social innovation must include human dignity. By pairing this emotional healing with career pathways on the Ministry of Manpower’s SIAPKerja platform, PRADNYA ensures these women don't just step back into society—they step into their own power.
Thank you to Garis Hitam Indonesia and Lapas Perempuan Jakarta for a beautiful, cross-sector co-creation.
