UID Bali Campus Holds Second Batch of Public Speaking Boot Camp
Denpasar – The Yayasan Upaya Indonesia Damai, known as the United In Diversity (UID) Foundation, successfully held intensive training on public speaking skills themed "Conquer Your Fear & Speak With Confidence" from November 27 to December 3, 2023. The peak event was held offline for three days at the UID Bali Campus, Kura Kura Bali, Serangan, Denpasar, Bali.
"Public speaking is a skill that can be learned. It is not an art that requires talent. Everyone can do it if they have the desire," said Tantowi Yahya, President of the United In Diversity Foundation, in a press statement. Moving forward, it is hoped that this program can become an effort to improve skills for professionals and all segments of society in Bali and the wider community.
"The UID Public Speaking Bootcamp is one of the programs at UID Bali Campus, through which the United In Diversity Foundation wants to produce people who are competent in the field of communication," added Nimas Mega, Director of the UID Bali Campus.
The participants' enthusiasm was visible, with attendees coming not only from Bali but also from Jakarta and Papua, all eager to hone their public speaking skills. "Some participants came from Jakarta and cities in Papua to take part in public speaking training from experts," added Nimas.
This program also offered scholarship opportunities, inviting 15 participants from the community, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and government sectors to receive direct learning from resource persons and facilitators. They also had the chance to expand their professional networks and enhance leadership skills through personal development.
A total of 37 participants from the tri-sector, comprising government, society, and business, were encouraged to collaborate on common goals in the future. This was also supported by a training process involving 10 prominent speakers and facilitators, namely:
- Tantowi Yahya, President of United In Diversity Foundation
- Helmy Yahya, Presenter and Business Trainer
