UID Bali Campus, Kura Kura Bali (August 21, 2024) - Public Speaking Bootcamp Batch 3 was completed successfully. There were 44 participants in this program, 11 speakers and 7 facilitators. It was a 7 day program, starting from August 5 to August 11.

The Public Speaking Bootcamp program which was conducted this time is the 3rd bootcamp by UID, and is expected to continue to be conducted annually. This bootcamp is open to anyone who wants to improve their Public Speaking skills to the 'master' level. Bringing the theme “Speak Like a Pro, Mastering the Art of Authentic Communication with Confidence” seemed to succeed in bringing all participants to be more confident in communicating, and showing their authenticity.

This hybrid activity is divided into online sessions for 4 days from August 5 to 8, and offline sessions for 3 days from August 9 to 11 at UID Bali Campus, Kura Kura Bali. In total there were 13 material sessions and 11 interactive sessions, where participants could directly practice. In total, participants spent 30 hours practicing to find their own way of authentic communication. Participants were very active and had a high desire to learn as seen from every interactive and question and answer session, participants were always actively interacting.

In one of the materials presented by Tantowi Yahya, he said that “Public Speaking is the cornerstone of every successful person”. He emphasized that in every activity, career, and daily life, public speaking is the only skill that is always there and needed. Meanwhile, Angela, one of the participants from Astra said that she was very happy to participate in this bootcamp because she finally learned some things that she never thought about public speaking, such as 'listening is the backbone of public speaking'. She said that people who learn public speaking generally only focus on how to improve their speaking skills, but never improve their ability to listen and understand the other person, mostly just want to look dominant, and keep talking.

The 3rd batch of Public Speaking Bootcamp participants came from various work backgrounds. About 35% of the participants came from government backgrounds, 50% came from private employee backgrounds, and the rest from the general public. Made Yudyani Putri, S.E., M.Si, one of the participants from the Denpasar City Social Service said “I am very happy to be able to meet other participants who come from different work backgrounds, open my mind, recognize communication styles that I think are really different. One of the materials also talked about communication in business, and public relations in business, this is new to me, and I am very grateful”.

The 3rd Public Speaking Bootcamp ran smoothly with the support of two main sponsors, Astra and PT XL Axiata Tbk, the sponsors also sent participants to take part in this bootcamp. And finally, this bootcamp was closed by giving certificates to all participants and inaugurating the 2 best participants namely I Gede Hendry Kamanjaya, S.IP., M.M., from the Denpasar City Tourism Office, and Angela Ria Anindita from Astra.
