Jakarta, December 2, 2024 – UID, in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Administration (LAN), hosted Forum Penguatan Transformasi Tata Kelola dalam Mendukung Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Indonesia. This forum represents UID's support for the new cabinet in efforts to drive economic growth through governance transformation. The event was held in a hybrid format, with 157 Echelon I & II civil servants from various ministries, agencies, regional governments, and corporate and BUMN leaders attending in person. Additionally, approximately 1,000 participants joined online via Zoom, and 5,019 views on YouTube.

Setting the context for the event, the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the National Economic Council (Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan & Mari Elka Pangestu) highlighted that Indonesia is positioned strategically amidst the global economic dynamics and the political impact of world policies. In this context, Indonesia must transform, beginning with Governance Transformation, to avoid the middle-income trap. The bureaucracy plays a critical role in overseeing governance improvements with _Tanggap, Tanggon, and Trengginas_ while preventing conflicts of interest and remaining a true servant to the people. As part of this transformation, human resource development, particularly for civil servants (ASN), is a key focus. Strengthening ASN capacity is crucial to supporting broader governance transformation.

The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia (PANRB) also shared President Prabowo's initiative to establish a strategic triangle to ensure that program planning and budgeting have a direct impact on the development and welfare of society. The three ministries involved in this initiative are the Ministry of Finance, BAPPENAS, and the Ministry of PANRB.

The event also featured Professor Otto Scharmer, Senior Lecturer at MIT and author of Theory U, who introduced his social change and leadership theory designed to help individuals and organizations achieve deeper transformations.

"To achieve effective transformation, we need a shift in how we listen and communicate. Leaders must have the capacity and competence to listen more deeply," said Prof. Otto Scharmer.

Furthermore, Prof. Otto Scharmer emphasized the importance of leadership focused on collaboration and openness to new possibilities. "We need to shift our paradigm from an 'ego-system' to an 'ecosystem' to realize Indonesia Emas 2045," he concluded.

This forum underscored the importance of governance transformation, leadership development, and cross-sector collaboration in driving Indonesia toward a sustainable and prosperous future, in line with the country's long-term development goals.
