Higher Education Transformation Program – Introductory Workshop
On Monday and Tuesday, September 8-9, 2025, the United In Diversity Foundation and Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center organized an inspiring introductory workshop on transforming Higher Education at the UID Bali Campus in Kura Kura, Bali. Six universities attended the seminar: Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Gusdur Pekalongan, Politeknik International Bali, Politeknik Gajah Tunggal, and our university partners from Politeknik Batam, who have already applied the CDIO framework, to share best practices.
The two-day workshop aimed to familiarize university representatives with the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) framework and assess their institutions' challenges regarding transformation.
Among the 10 working packages presented, participants identified Leadership, Curriculum, Readiness & Employability, Faculty Development, and ICT & Technology as the top four areas of focus for transformation.
Moving forward, each university will develop a working plan for adopting the framework and will collaborate with us on further workshops. We are planning the next workshop to focus more on specific packages.
