Bali Capital Circle (BCC) Strengthens Bali’s Startup Ecosystem Through Strategic Dialogue

Bali, Indonesia — The inaugural Bali Capital Circle (BCC) brought together key players shaping Bali’s digital future through a dynamic collaboration between the Directorate of Digital Ecosystem of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), Taka Lab, United In Diversity (UID), and BlockDevId. Designed as an integrated platform for practical learning, strategic insights, and hands-on assistance, BCC served as a meeting point for startup founders, academics, investors, and policymakers to build a shared understanding of Bali’s opportunities and constraints, ultimately strengthening investment readiness and charting a collaborative path forward for an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable local startup ecosystem.

BCC was structured as a two-stage interactive dialogue. The first stage focused on exploring Bali’s startup landscape, creating space for participants to map challenges, share insights, and exchange cross-sector perspectives. The second stage shifted into a technical workshop led by Dennis, Head of BlockDevId, titled “Understanding and Experiencing Blockchain.” In this session, Dennis emphasized the increasingly significant role of distributed technologies globally, noting that “around the world, leading countries and major companies are already engaging with crypto and blockchain. Blockchain is a shared digital record where data is transparent, permanent, and not owned by one central authority.”

A key highlight of BCC was the Startup Coaching Clinic, which provided direct, personalized guidance from seasoned industry leaders. Startups received tailored mentoring from Michael Hadiono, CEO & Co-Founder of Ternakin, and Gede Anta, CEO of Baliola. Participating startups included PT Adolin Solusi Nusantara, Bali Property Investment Management, Karna Bali, Staphylo Company, Chaindox, Kraf Lab, Kolivo.ai, Evista, Bliink, and Krono Finance.

The event opened with remarks from Adinda Ragilia Rahmandini (Partnership Lead, Partnership & Investment Ecosystem, Komdigi), Nimas Mega Purnamasari (Director, UID Bali Campus & Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center), and Fahri Reza (Co-Founder, Taka Lab). During his opening statement, Fahri Reza emphasized the importance of strong fundamentals for startup sustainability, stating, “running a business or startup is not primarily about funding. What matters most is the quality of your product and the strength of your execution. You need a solid grid.” His message set the tone for the day’s discussions, underscoring the need for founders to prioritize value creation over valuation.

Representing UID, Nimas Mega Purnamasari highlighted the mission of UID Bali Campus to nurture collaborative and inclusive learning environments. “UID Bali Campus exists to provide collaborative spaces, places where anyone can exchange knowledge for a better future,” she shared, reaffirming UID’s commitment to empowering innovators and changemakers across Bali.

The workshop series within BCC was intentionally technical, aimed at enhancing the product–market readiness, technical literacy, and business development capacity of local startup founders. With its combination of practical knowledge and strategic depth, BCC reflects a broader mission to equip Bali’s startups with the skills and perspectives needed to navigate an increasingly competitive digital landscape.

Komdigi’s initiative through BCC received strong support from United In Diversity, with both organizations expressing enthusiasm for continued collaboration. Plans are already underway to develop a Garuda Spark Innovation Hub in Bali, which would further expand opportunities for local innovators and strengthen the island’s position as a rising center of digital creativity.

Bali Capital Circle stands as a testament to what can be achieved when government, academia, industry leaders, and startup communities come together with a shared purpose. By blending strategic dialogue, technical depth, and tailored mentorship, BCC sets a strong foundation for a more resilient, collaborative, and forward-looking generation of Bali-based startups, a momentum that partners hope to continue building in the years ahead.
