A Milestone for a Safer Digital Future: UID Advocates for Child Protection Regulations in the Online Space

United In Diversity feels grateful to be involved in the Child Protection Law and regulation in the digital space titled “Age Appropriate Design Code” on July 17-18 in Jakarta. This workshop, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KOMINFO), Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs (KEMENKOMARVES), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and 5 Rights Foundation, is an initial milestone in creating a safer digital environment for children and aligns with national efforts to protect and empower young individuals.

“This workshop was the first milestone in the journey to fight for rules and regulations that provide protection for children in the digital space has been completed with full meaning and happiness”, said Cokorda Dewi, Senior Advisor UID.

As technology continues to advance and children increasingly engage with online platforms, it becomes essential to establish legal frameworks and regulations that prioritize their safety, privacy, and well-being.

Building trust is essential for a common future that is sustainable, equitable, and just. When trust is present, collaboration, dialogue, and collective action become possible, leading to positive social and environmental outcomes.
